>>Hi,
>>I'm looking for recommendations for Ethiopian and W. African
>>restaurants in Washington, DC. Preferably inexpensive.

For Ethiopian, Meskerem on 18th St in Adams-Morgan is THE best. The Red Sea, right across the street,is good, and is the oldest in the city. Zed's, in Georgetown, is supposed to be great, but I have not been there, and so cannot say from personal experience. Go to Meskerem. It's the best.

There are a few West African places, but my favorite has closed, and I haven't found a new favorite yet, so I can't give you any help with that.

In general, eating in Adams-Morgan is a good idea. Many good restaurants of many ethnicities, good people watching, not TOO many really expensive places..

Have fun here...
