Do you want places to eat in Old Town, or in other parts of Alexandria ? In Old Town, Union Street Public House is good.(good food, good beer) So is Hard Times Cafe. (good chili, good beer) Le Gaulloise is very good. (French food - great food and service) The Fish Market is ok. (few non-seafood options.) There is a new brewpub on King St.  I have forgotten its' name, but both the food and the beer are getting good reviews.

Try Santa Fe East on Pitt Street.  Really good Southwestern food and not too expensive.  Enjoy!
