About two or three years ago we had the most marvelous Sunday brunch at a place called The Tobacco Factory. Casual but nice atmosphere and the food was incredible!!

This place is kinda trendo-yup. But then again what place in Richmond that serves food not resembling Purina isn't?

Try Millie's (if it is still open).
There is also a brew-pub in the Fan area called the Taphouse that has some good beer. Try posting to va.general and see what you get from there too.

good luck,

I second F&R....however the name comes from the two chefs/owners. Jean-Louis Paladin <frog> and Jimmy (the name escapes me right now) <redneck>. The food is very good. Groups of 2 or 3 really need only to make reservations a day or two ahead. Groups of 6> need to plan about a week or two ahead for Friday or Saturday nights. The second chef does a spot in that Julia Child cooks with Master Chefs series. The desserts are good...but rather unimaginative ( "amazing custard"= Creme Brulee, "Claufoooti"= Cherry Claufoutis).... If you are into this type of food....it's a can't miss.
