One very nice place is the Inn at Shelburne Farms. Wonderful food and a great view of the lake. Cafe Shelburne is also nice (wonderful French cuisine). In Burlington itself, the Deja Vu Cafe is good (nice building, with crepes and more). For informal eating in Burlington, I like the Vermont Pub and Brewery. Good food and great beer. For Chinese, the Panda Inn, for Japanese, Sakura. For Cajun, the Bourbon Street Grill. A little East of Burlington is Butler's at the Inn at Essex. Run by the New England Culinary Institute. The Birch Tree Cafe is a less formal restaurant next to it, run by the same group. South of Burlington, I'm partial to Mary's at Baldwin Creek located in Bristol. Always some very tempting dishes (ask Doug if he's finished his cookbook yet). Further south in Middlebury is the Swift House Inn, excellent food and beautiful gardens (though maybe not at this time of year :-) Bob

It's called the Vermont Pub and Brewery which is located right downtown Burlingtion. They also make their own beer which is also very good, if your a beer drinker that is. It's off of Church St. I believe. Andy
