Today I travelled a half mile distance along Wilmslow Road, Rusholme, Manchester, UK. There are now around 40 Indian restaurants alond this stretch of road, all serving excellent value food. Is this density of Indian restaurants a world record, I did not experience such a density even in Bombay, Delhi or Bangalore? Well worth a visit when in the UK. Try visiting the Moseley area next time you're in Birmingham. In Ladypool Road, Stoney Lane and Stratford Road there are some 70 Indian Restaurants (they're called Balti Houses in Brum!) and most of them are open for business all day, 7 days a week. Here is an informative link: http://birmingham.gov.uk/html/tourist_info/balti/balti.html
I like Indian Reastaurants and can recommend the 'Star of Saul' in Chesterfield as a superb example of this cuisine.

For many years Imrans was the restaurant of choice, mainly because their starters are amazing and the food is incredibly cheap. However it seems to have become a bit of a victim of its own success so a few years back we defected to the Kashmir Lake but that has since had a change of ownership. I'm off to Brum again this weekend for a board games convention so me and about 200 others would be most interested to know what the cognoscenti think is the best Indian restaurant in the Ladypool Road area.
