The famous 'Cagneys', next to the Chinese resto. Bland kinda sums it up. Nice resto, tastefully decorated.. typical indian music, which kept jumping. But the food.. very dissapointed! Poppadums were OK, standard issue, but very small amounts of accompainaments, no mango! No hot red sauce, just a turgid tomato goo and a weak mint sauce. No lime pickle either. My stock dish of chicken dansak was ok, again no obvious lentils and no fresh herbs. Hard to tell that it was a Dansak. The garlic naan was probably the tastiest thing on the table :) So, is it me, or do indian restos turn a bit bland once you get past Scotch Corner on the A1M?

Well I tried the much hyped curry resto in Penrith...
Funny you should say that. I once went out with a girl from Glasgow who i took to my favourite Indian in Manchester and she moaned like hell, saying 'Its nowhere near as good as the ones in Scotland!' Since visiting the 'Jewell in the crown' in Dumfries i know what she means. Nathan wrote: > > The famous 'Cagneys', next to the Chinese resto.
