Another vegan place recently opened here is the Bay Tree (Great Western Road near Kelvinbridge Underground Station). I think it's even better than Basil's. There are vegan or veggie-with-a-vegan-option restaurants in several Scottish cities: Seeds (incredibly cheap), Hendersons (good range but usually crowded) and the Kalpna (Indian and wonderful) in Edinburgh; JAWS in Aberdeen; Brambles in St Andrews. I'm probably missing quite a lot out. Almost any Indian restaurant will have enough options for you to select a good vegan meal, as will the better Chinese places (like the Amber or the Gourmet House here, or the-one-I-can't-remember-the-name-of in Forth Street in Edinburgh). There are vegetarian restaurant guides to the UK that you can buy from any good bookshop.
