Hi there, As two people suggested the Ashiana in Singleton as possibly the best resto near Blackpool, I went and tried it. The Ashiana is about 200m off junction 3 of the M55 headed towards Fleetwood, and not really in Singleton, which is about a further 2 miles away, unless there's another one! Big resto, well decorated, was not busy when we went about 6.30pm. Good choice of curries, no phall on the menu though.. I had: aloo chat, chicken dansak, onion fried rice (not on menu) and the usual condiments, poppadoms, nan etc. My colleague had: rashmi kebab, chicken vindaloo (ordered very hot) and the above. The aloo chat was OK, bit too lemoney, served without a pancake. The chicken dansak was OK, sauce was a bit runny, and no lentils were visable. A large slice of tinned pineapple had been chucked in for good measure.. (yuck!) Overall, compared to the Sakura in Crawley.. I award them... 4 out of 10 (an extra point for the chilli sauce in the poppadom condiments) The rasmi kebab was average, luke warm, not served sizzling and no fried onions. The chicken vindaloo was too tomatoey, not vindaloo strength and generally poor quality. We question whether fresh spices were used in the preparation of these dishes.. Overall, 5 out of 10. An extra point for the mint yoghurt served with the rasmi kebab! In conclusion, a bulk standard curry shop, and very disappointed.. was looking forward to better things.
