Not *that* near but the Thai Terrace (round the corner from Kensington High St. tube, near the Copthorne hotel) is marvellous. Piccadilly line and change at Gloucester Road? :)
Moderate price, excellent portions, service and surroundings, and superb food. Nothing surprising, but all the usual Thai dishes done with subtlety and vigour.
