There is a couple of good Indian restaurants in Edinburgh that I like. Just near the university in Drummond Street, opposite Old College, there is Khushi's which provides excellent Bangladeshi family food and has done at various locations since the early 1960s.

Newer on the scene is Suruchi near the university and Suruchi 2 in Constitution Street in Leith. They bring in Indian Chefs from top hotels in India and cook many different regional specilaities. Their boast is that they send their new chefs on a tour of local Indian restaurants to discover what the British usually expect of so called Indian food. Then they telltheir chefs to forget what they have seen and cook the real thing.

Cheers,

Tim Steward
