Can anyone recommend anywhere good to eat in Newcastle upon Tyne. I'm going to be there on my wife's birthday, and need to find somewhere impressive to dine out. The Fisherman's Wharf I know about, but is it still good? My preference would be for modern British - fairly impossible in the North East where everyone's idea of a good meal is a plateful of charred meat surrounded by overcooked vegetables.
