S'OK - can't remember it being wonderful, but no complaints either. The most memorable thing about it was the waitress and the way she brandished the suggestive 3-foot long pepperpot.

This must have been 6-7 years ago, mind.

I haven't been for about six years, but I always liked it. I preferred it in the evenings rather than the day. My favourite meal was espetada, a very long skewer of meat or chicken. I also took the opportunity to practise my Portuguese, which would often get me extras.

Simon

I was there with a large-ish party (18) a few weeks back. As a social event, it was fine. The skewers of meat were great fun. The food and wine were very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

However, on a purely food basis it was only so-so. If you're after good grub in central Cardiff, stroll up to Le Brasserie/Le Monde/Champers (particularly Le Monde if you like fish). If you're willing to travel out a mile or so, the Armless Dragon in Cathays is better and Le Cassoulet in Canton is the best.

Cheers

M
