Hi, Anyone who is visiting Looe, would be well advised to book a table at the "Water Rail". We dined there just after it opened in early Feb whilst on a weekend break from Hampshire. The food, wine and ambience was superb. If you go, please mention my name "Brian Houston" and where you heard about it. Kind Regards. PS. I have no connection with the restaurant, I just think it was super. From [email removed] Wed Feb 25 15:15:09 EST 1998 Article: 697 of uk.food+drink.restaurants

There is another excellent restaurent in Looe particularly for fish. It is in East looe (turn left by the Midland Bank and it is next door). My memory is failing me but if I remember it is called "The Cottage". It certainly has atmosphere. It is (well I assume) still is run by a couple, he serves, she cooks and sends the food down from the top floor of the building by a "dumb waiter". It is a very small restaurent and was closed on a Monday but is worth investigating on a trip to Looe. He buys his fish fresh off the quay- and very nice it is too!!!!
