Yes, Chi Chi's is still there in Leicester Square. The
food was okay (the lunch buffet not very appetizing
      though) but I wasn't impressed. (I don't think it
compared to our Mexican restaurants here in Denver.)
There are even Taco Bell's there .... :-)

As far as Chinese restaurants, there are an abundance
of them in Leicester Square (close to 'China Town'),
and in almost every part of London. As I posted before,
the food is excellent and the service fast. The soups -
fish head with bean curd and fish ball - and authenticity
cannot be found anywhere in Denver (even in the most
fanciest restaurants). Many dishes are under L10 (about
$18-20) but the fresh fish or 'catch of the day' can be a
      bit steep - between L15-20.

For Chinese food in London try the original -Poon's- on Lisle Street (off Leicester Sq.). The place looks like a dive but serves the best Chinese I've had. Set 4-5 course dinners for 2 start at 13#. Very reasonable.

No, "Chi Chis" is NOT still in Leicester Square. The restaurant is now Chiquito's. The Mexican food is still pretty good though.
There is a new Mexican restaurant in London (near Leicester Square call "Texas Embassy Cantina". It is good also. The address is 1 Cockspur.

Another decent Mexican restaurant in the central area is Cafe Pacifico (near Covent Garden) on Langley.

For Chinese, I agree, there are lots of good ones near Leicester Square. My favorite is Dragongate on Gerrard Street (China Town).
