Helen, I was on a course at Wolverton, MK recently and dined at a reasonable restaurant in Stoney Stratford. Can't remember the name of the place but it was opposite the White Horse pub on the High Street. They had a special deal on Wednesday nights where you had a set menu for £8.95.
