Wheeler's on Old Compton St. Not trendy. Posh but a bit raffish. Good food. Not cheap.

Do they still force you to wait in the bar even when there are plenty of free tables, just in the hope you'll buy some expensive drinks?

Brewer Street has 3 excellent places:

Zilli Fish (Ital/media-types but not 'trendy'/classy/quite pricey)

Hamine (authentic Japanese noodle bar. Cheap. Excellent. Open late)

Kulu Kulu sushi (speaks for itself. Not trendy. Small.)
