Try Ba Le (sp?) on N. Lamar (just N. of Research, sorry don't have the exact address, but it's around and about in the general area of Saigon Market). They were so-so when first opened, but have steadily improved.

Thanks for the pointer. Ba Le Bakery is a real find; their sandwiches are indeed excellent.

The best place, IMHO, for Vietnamese sandwiches is Mai's up on 183 next to = Target and in the same shopping center as a bunch of other Vietnamese busin= esses and restaurants. Mai's is on the end of the strip center nearest Tar= get. The sandwiches start at =241.50 -- one of the best food deals around. = I've tried the place next to Saigon Market on N. Lamar and it wasn't as goo= d, but if their quality is said to have improved, I'll give it another shot= .=20

Does anyone remember Le Petit Pavillion accross from the old entrance to Do= bie Theater in Dobie Mall? They had awesome Vietnamese sandwiches and some=
 of the best Pho around.
