I am a Corpus Christi native and can give you a few hints:
In Port Aransas, Spaghetti Works is a great Italian restaurant.
However, if you're on the coast you will probably want to hit the
seafood joints. There is a place in Port Aransas that I would
recommend, but the name escapes me right now. It's on the beach,
and all the locals will know it. Just stop at any convenience
store in Port A and ask. They have the best Amberjack for miles.

In CC, there are two restaurants worth mentioning. Water Street
Oyster Bar is by far the most successful of the bunch. It's in
the downtown area at 309 N. Water. I worked there for about
five or six years (mostly summers). The atmosphere is very upbeat
and the bar is usually packed. On Friday and Saturday nights, the
wait gets to 1.5 hours and longer. If you go there for at least
one meal, tell the highest-ranking manager that Tommy Mahaffey
sent you! Ask for Salziger and tell him I said hello.

For a second meal I would recommend a place called The Yardarm. It
is on Ocean Dr. but I can't remember the address. This was my
*favorite* restaurant in Corpus, especially when on a date. The
owners are from Greece, I believe, and brought some creative dishes
with them. Hardly anything on the menu is fried, which is a relief
considering Texas's love of fried shrimp, catfish and even steaks!
This place has the best oysters Rockefeller I've ever tasted.

If you hit Water Street, have the embrochette as an appetizer, along
with some picayune. For the main course, anything on the fresh
	board will be great.

	Have fun! Tom
