I tried them for lunch today after checking their menu online. I had one of their vegetarian spring rolls and the veggie and tofu soup. My work friend had their beef noodle soup. The spring rolls were fresh with a lot of mint and a spicy peanut sauce on the side. Not as large as some places, but very nice. The soup was served with a plate of basil, lime, and bean sprouts, and I really liked mine -- a nice veggie broth with baby corn, broccoli, and shitake mushrooms. Matt said his pho was good, better than most of the other Vietnamese places we frequent, although the service size was a little smaller. In addition to the soups, they also had several salads, vermicilli dishes, and steamed rice dishes. They had a set of six lunch plates which included soup, salad, a fried Imperial roll, and a dish.

The restaurant was quite clean, and service was very attentive, filling my water glass several times during the meal. It wasn't very crowded, with maybe ten other diners in the place. I will definately return... next time, I'm trying the lemongrass tofu with steamed rice. They do have separate lunch and dinner menus, it seems.

BTW, its located at the north end of the shopping center next to Target on 183, a few doors down from the Hong Kong Supermarket.

HI everyone,
Well, if you are in a hurry to go to Sunflower restaurant because of the glowing review in the Chronicle this week, don't rush. While the food is ok, the service has a long way to go. At least it was fast, but the staff doesn't seem to know alot about the dishes on the menu. Also, one of the waitresses brought the *filthy* bus cart to the table and made all kinds of noise right next to us while she cleaned the table. Yuck! When I bused tables I was told to NEVER EVER bring the bus trays to a table unless it was the end of the night and all the customers had left. Anyway, that's just my rant for the day. until soon, Hope
