Nothing earth-shaking, just a couple of things that work for me and may for you as well ....

(1) I am becoming increasingly fond of the burgers at Culver's ButterBurgers; there are certainly better burgers in town, but these are the only ones in my general area with any character at all that are also available at roughly drive-thru speed. And although I usually don't like crinkle-style fries, the ones served at Culver's taste pretty good to me. I gather there are a couple of locations in town; the one I stop by is at the intersection of Braker and Kramer.

(2) I am a fan of a particular simple type of pancake, on the thin and eggy side (as opposed to thick and cakey). Saturday mornings between 7 and 8 you can usually catch me at the Taco Cabana at 360 and 183, across the lot from the Container Store. It's always the same guy at the grill, and he knows how to cook 'em right (unlike most other Taco Cabanas in town, which way overcook them). And it's something like $1.69 for four panckages, $2.19 if you add bacon. Recommended, but only at that location on Saturday am, or whenever else that guy is around.

(3) When I get a craving for a meal that is primarily Japanese-style rice, I go to Azuma Express at Parmer and MoPac, where I can get a large plate of rice topped with some variation of Teriyaki chicken on top and some sort of side for about $5. Fast, simple, delicious.
