Keep in mind that we are *nowwhere near* the coast. You can get good seafood (they have it flown in), but frankly I've never been nearly as impressed as with places on the East or West coast. La Calle Doce in Oak Cliff has good Mexican seafood. Daddy Jack's on Greenville is good for shellfish, chowder, etc. Newport's is probably your best bet for high quality seafood, but be prepared to pay alot for it. LizR

Need a good seafood place in Dallas

Another one worth trying is Pappadeaux, which is a Cajun place with good seafood. They do nice things with salmon. Pappa. is in the Turtle Creek area, near Cedar Springs Rd. I also agree that you must be mixing up Dallas with Houston (or Boston?) which are of course coastal. Ken Freeman ps: if you stay at the Omni Melrose you will be a short walk from Pappa.

But if you *really* want a great meal, try the fajitas (shrimp fajitas if you want seafood) at Uncle Julio's, on Lemmon near downtown, on Greenville or the new location just off the North Dallas tollway, just north of the LBJ Freeway.
