I will wholeheartedly second this. I have been to this place numerous times during the past 6 months. Usually for dinner (although they have some great bargains during lunch). By now, I have tried out almost the entire menu and have introduced many of my friends to this place who have all liked it.

No matter what anyone else claims - this IS the ONLY authentic Indonesian restaurant in town (as of today).

For those who are familiar with Bengali/Bangladeshi cuisine, many Indonesian preparations have uncanny resemblance with Bn./Bang. food. On request, the chef will prepare Sambal Goreng Udang (prawns cooked in spicy coconut milk sauce) which comes very close to Prawn Malai Curry (a dish very popular in Bengal and Bangladesh). A serving for 3 comes for $8.99 !

The recommended strategy is to go with a group of friends and choose several items from the menu and share the food. The food is healthy, tasty and the prices are extremely reasonable.

The chef, Mr. Johannes is very amiable but very modest too. They have been around since July 96 but they placed their first ad. in the Chronicle only a couple of weeks ago. I would very much like to see them stay and grow.

Please whisper this request. Werner may be listening. It's on E. Oltorf just east of, and down the hill from the Diamond Shamrock station on the north side of the street. keep your eyes peeled!

shhh! He's monitoring such requests!!!!!! We are messin' with HIS precious bandwidth. (ironic how he wastes more moanin' about such simple requests...)
