Can't speak for atmosphere, but try Kid Creole Cajun Cuisine, Th-Sat nites, near 6th and Red River. It's authentic Cajun (to go!).

Expensive, but good, is Pappdeaux on the I-35 access road just north of 290 East. Prices range from $8-$20 for entrees, but you get plenty of food! It gets very crowded on the weekends though -- go early!

Hope this helps!

Joyful
-- my employer didn't say this, and neither did I!

Another place to try is Pearl's Oyster Bar, on the corner of Hwy 183 & Burnnet. It has pretty good food and I think that they have live music at night. I have only eaten lunch there so I'm don't know anything about the night shows.

On the same note. If you are looking for a home cooked Cajun Meal, there is a store who sells only Cajun food. It's called "Sambet's Cajun Store" at 8644 Spicewood Springs Rd. It's in the shopping Center on the corner of Hwy 183 and Spicewood Springs, North of Texas Inst. They have very good selection of all kinds of spices, hot sauce, and other stuff.
