Great Chinese in Round Rock

I have lived in Round Rock for two years and have been extremely disappointed in the Chinese restaurants here. That is, until last night. I ordered out from Hao Hao, which is located across from Round Rock High School (next to Pizza Hut). I picked up a menu at a local convenience store and thought I'd give it a try. Their menu is lengthy, over a hundred items, and they also have a Vietnamese menu that has over fifty items. I ordered three dishes, the Chicken Lo Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and "Round Rock" Chicken. They quoted me a time of ten minutes for pick-up (they also deliver, which is the first I've found). With two appetizers, the bill was $26. When I got the food home, it was HOT and there was plenty of it. The take-out containers were filled to the rims (in fact there is enough left for dinner tonight). Everything was very fresh, the vegetables were crisp and not soggy, and the meat was good quality. Dare I say it is the best Chinese I have ever had.

I would recommend Hao Hao to anyone. It is GREAT food.

I don't know if Hao Hao serves great food, but the one down by UT (I'm assuming they're related) is fairly good, and has the only decent Chinese food near campus.

Believe it or not, the Hao Hao at Dobie Mall is pretty good too. I used to order their Pho Tai all the time. No, its definitely not fancy but its actually better than a lot of places and if you're in the campus area, its your best bet for good Chinese or Vietnamese.

I used to eat at Hao Hao on William Cannon fairly regularly (until our office moved). I was (still am) quite fond of their bun, but never tried their Chinese offerings.

The restaurant up in Round Rock is fairly closely related to the one on William Cannon - I think the hostess said her brother-in-law ran the north store. The one in Dobie Mall was run by an aunt with whom the brothers apparently didn't get along, so she split off and runs the place independently.

The Round Rock location is excellent. Try the Peppery Shrimp on the Vietnamese menu!

Hao Hao is the best chinese food in RR. The have a small, but very good buffet and the best Hot & Sour soup in this area.
