____________________________________________________________________________ ______ The best fish restaurant I have found in or around Austin is Sea Island on Mopac just north of Parmer Lane. It has better cooked and a greater variety of fish than many other restaurants which are more expensive and in classier locations. The whole grilled flounder is excellent.

If you're looking for good *tasting* seafood and not a fancy restaurant, Quality Seafood on Airport is fresh and fabulous. Their crawfish etouffee is worthy of the Soup Nazi, and they do have tables (albeit not ones with tablecloths.)

In the good *tasting* but not fancy restaurant catagory I would suggest Sea Island. I must note however that I am basing this on my experiences in San Antonio. If anyone has something to say about the one here in Austin, I'd like to hear it.

Ever had the frech fries at Bill Miller Bar-b-que? They use peeled potatoes. They also have excellent fried chicken.

James, I note u did not answer the question either

Now, so as not to by toooooo hypocritical -- one place to consider is Tien Hong Chinese restaurant. People seem to block out chinese and some other ethnic options when discussing fish and seafood. I cant remember the exact dish name , but they make this one fish in a way that ranks it among my favorite fishes.
