i took my family here and thoroughly enjoyed the food! the dishes were similar to a restaurant in Dallas called Din Hao First Chinese Barbacue. this one is "Din Ho" by the way. the one in Dallas was a little better, but it's hard to beat that kind of Chinese here in Austin. does anyone know if they restaurants are related? anyway... the roast duck wasn't as fatty as most that i've had making it healthier, but leaving the taste lacking a tad. marinated chicken was good as was the wonton soup. "gong chow gai hoa" was excellent!!! didn't try the ma po tofu(next time!), but anything other than my dad's wouldn't compare anyway. :-) service wasn't too bad. for some reason, i'll admit, service in chinese restaurants is almost always lacking. hmmmm... but our waitress was courteous, smiled, and spoke fluent chinese which was a good sign from the start. i'll definitely be going back very soon. now mom and dad might be more inclined to visit knowing there's good chinese here. :-) --YeeMan remove X in email to reply ym wrote: > has anybody been to this chinese restaurant? it's off of 183 across the > street from Target and is in the same shopping center as Cong Ly. my > family is coming to austin tomorrow and i'd like to take them to a good > "real" chinese restaurant. they'll know the difference since we're > chinese and they've been spoiled by the chinatown in dallas. > > thanks alot! > --YeeMan
