For lunch today, I went with my wife and kids to Enchiladas Y Mas, and it did my heart good to see how busy it was. We arrived at 11:15, and by 11:45 there was a line out the door (and another long line waiting to pay at the register--I guess that there is a sizeable crowd that comes early in order to get a seat). We all had our usual, including hugs all around from Millie.

Two things struck me today. First, their food is absolutely reliable; I have eaten so many plates of their chorizo migas w/cheese that I have the taste memorized--and the next plate I order always tastes like I remember. Second, they had Christmas stockings hung on the wall, one for each employee; thirty-four in all, a long way from the seven they started with in spring of
1994. Five and one half years seems to be an eternity in the Austin restaurant business, and it's encouraging to see that they are even now thriving and growing.

Do yourself a favor and stop by. They are located on Anderson Lane east of Burnet, roughly across the street from Lack's furniture.
