CC: [email removed] James, I have been reading the places that folks have recommended to you and was surprised by some of them! There are some really unique and wonderful restaurants in the Northwest area that have not been mentioned that are definitely head and shoulders above some of the chains mentioned. Xena Grill on Jollyville Rd. has a huge variety of wines by the glass and also a "sampler" for about 7-8 bucks where you can try a 2 oz. glass of any three wines on the menu. Good menu, southwestern/continental dishes. Z Tejas Grill and Brio are next door to each other on Arboretum Drive just down the hill towards Loop 360. Both are really excellent, in my opinion. Interesting architecture and good views. I was so glad when they opened these locations--they also have side by side locations on West Sixth Street. For breakfast, you might want to check out Kerbey Lane Cafe on 183. Have either the blueberry pancakes or an omelette. Or both!!
