Went to Miguel's de Bodega for the first time in about a year a few weeks ago . . . I'd have to rate my dinner as just about the best Mexican/Caribbean/southofhere meal I've had in years. The same could NOT be said of my earlier experiences there. I wonder if they have a new owner/manager/chef? jim andrews

anything new in Austin?
Thanks, the suggestions sound great. Too bad all the good new stuff costs so much. By the way, it looks like there are two new places going in that shopping center at the Jester turn off 2222. One looks to be upscale Italian and the other ?. Also new on the far west side is Thistle Cafe at Davenport on loop 360. Only been there for lunch. $7 burgers, $10 pastas. IMHO for $7 you can get a much better burger at Houston's. wrote in message >> > >1. Sardine Rouge on W. 6th St on the former Sfuzzi location. Upscale > French seafood restaurant. Very tasty -- my wife and I sampled a bunch of items over lunch resulting in the most expensive lunch to date! Make it an appetizer night -- go two doors down to Malaga for tapas too! That's about it. Marty
