Well, before I was unceremoniously 'relived' of my employment duties = this afternoon, I visited the 'new' restaurant in town yesterday (I am = ALMOST CERTAIN that the two events are unrelated!! LOL). It is in the = place a million restaurants have been - next to 708 Congress - La Calle = Ocha was there previous to this one. =20

This restaurant - deli - is supposedly owned by the same man that owns = the New York Deli in Round Rock. Don't know about that, but can attest = to the Rueben I got yesterday. Slightly pricey for a 'lunch' sandwich, = but damn big!! They have several 'sizes' - BIG, 1/2 Sand, and 1/2 = portion. I am guessing this =3D big, bigger and biggest. The rye that = I had was the same thickness as Texas Toast - corned beef was VERY = TENDER (tho I did have to take a sec to think with the server described = it as 'rare' corned beef!!) The kraut on it was tangy/sweet and = crunchy. The 1000 dressing was messy - but the bread withstood it all. = There was provolone (?) cheese on it and it came with chips and a great = pickle (hard to get here!). Along with a (of course) diet coke - the = total was over $8, but for a 'once and while' it was worth it. They = also have a hot pastrami (which I will try next) as well as lunch 'plate = specials'. I know that on Tuesdays it is chicken fried steak (around = 5.95). The specials come with two veggies, and it appears that the = choices change regularly - I say this as the sheet was a copied sheet = that started with - Abbi says these are the veggie choices today!!! I = didn't check all of them, but was impressed with horseradish beets. The = guy next door had them and really enjoyed them... said tender with just = a hint of horseradish. =20

Will be getting the pastrami sandwich with my first unemployment check!! = LOL

Enjoy!

khp
