Try the Stockyard....excellent steaks and reasonable prices for such good fare! May I recommend the sweet potato as a side....very good! Located north and east of downtown I believe.

Sunset Grill in the Vanderbilt area, and Quails in Brentwood are great.

And outrageous prices for miniscule portions. This place is pretentious at dinner time. It's a much better deal for lunch.

If you're interested in good food, try Sperry's, 5109 Harding Road Phone 353-0809. Tourists don't seem to have found it yet.

For home cooking, consider Sylvan Park Restaurant (original location), 4502 Murphy Rd. Phone 292-9275.

New Orleans Manor, 1400 Murfreesboro Road, Phone 367-277, is a most unusual concept. A "gourmet" all-you-care-to-eat seafood buffet which also includes prime rib. It's in a beautiful old Southern mansion.

If you like lots of linen and fresh-cut flowers. The Wild Boar, 2014 Broadway. Phone 329-1313. Located on the main drag near downtown. Elegant dinner dining. Good service.

Have fun!
Sally

I love the "Captain's Table" in Printers Alley. The food is good, the entertainment is good and the prices are great. They even serve you a chilled fork for your salad.

More excellent Nashville restraunts:

The Loveless Cafe has the best breakfasts in the world. They are located in the suburbs. You can mail order their specialties to your home now.

Jimmy Kelly's has the best steaks in town. Located in midtown.

Merchants's and Mere Belles are two of the finer dining establishments. They both serve continental cusine and are located downtown.

The Gerst House in East Nashville has really good German food.

Try using www.nashville.citysearch.com to locate a restaurant. All have discriptions. You can find restaurants by type of food also. (no, i'm not promoting citysearch, it's just a good way to check the restaurants out.
