There is a great place called Brooksie's Barn, off 45 By-Pass behind Union University. They have a huge buffet with the very best pulled BBQ pork, ribs and chicken. They also feature fried catfish, chicken and shrimp. In addition, they have a big salad section, fries, beans, slaw, onion rings, hushpuppies, corn light bread and fried mushrooms. At the end is gumbo with rice. For dessert are sugared pineapple fritters or homemade cobbler/ice cream.. -And they have some of the best 'sweettea' in the area. I know you are looking for places in Memphis, but if you happen to be coming through or near Jackson -- it is DEFINITELY worth it! We have driven up there some Saturdays -- just to eat dinner!!! As for BBQ in Memphis, there is always Corky's, The Rendezvous, The Public Eye, Pig 'n Whistle, Germantown Commissary, Tom's BBQ on S Getwell, Willingham's, Tops, Interstate BBQ and the like...but one thing is for sure, if you've been to one Memphis BBQ place...you've been to one Memphis BBQ place. Oh, and one note about Germantown Commissary...As much as I love their food and the owners/managers, those waitresses are MEAN. ;-) I much prefer to take advantage of their take-out menu -- as do most Memphians, from the looks of it. The take-out line is three times longer than the number of those seated. Anyway, I think I have mentioned this in our previous e-mails about this subject...but please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this or anything else in Memphis. Take care, Tara Laine Memphis, TN Paul F. wrote: > Well, I'm not from Memphis and have never visited there but I know there are > tons of great BBQ places.
