A friend and I always eat sushi (I'm a weekly, she is a once a month)....

Umi was not bad, the service was. We went after it had opened and didn't get a soup or salad with dinner, even though we should have. The Umi staff told us, "sorry we just don't know what we are doing." -- after how many weeks and how much money? The food was not bad, just extremely expensive. If you just stick to the sushi dinner, it's not bad, but after having the $55 "ultra special, best-the-chef-has-to-offer meal" I was left extremely hungry. Burger King was the dinner on the way home after Umi (and trust me I was pissed to be hungry).

I still say for the value, freshness and quality, Koto Buki (in the North Hills and BYOB, I might add). Koto Buki is by far the best and I have eaten sushi all over the world.

It is located on Old Babcock Blvd which is off Babcock in the North
Hills. Take Babcock from McKnight and head towards North Park. You will
pass Passavant Hospital, and then BeattieTech. About a mile on your left
after Beattie will be old Babcock. There is a sign for the rest. If you
hit North Park you have gone too far. The view of the rest. is blocked
 by some townhouses.
