I wanted to be the first (that I can tell) to post to Beth ([email removed]) what a WONDERFUL time my husband and I had at last night's first official New York Sushi Society gathering at Sumou on John Street! What a wonderful place, Beth - as I said last night, I'm the first to cast my vote to make this our more or less PERMANENT meeting place!!!! I've *never seen* some of the kinds of exotic things they did with sushi and sashimi (amaebi sashimi? Tremendous!), and they really treated us right! The sake was delightful (next time I think I'm going to try for as many as most of you guys had), and the company was terrific, a great bunch of people! And the price was extremely reasonable for the spread that we got!!! Yay Beth! And yay, the New York Sushi Society! So Beth, when's our next gathering already? Let's get moving on it, girl! :) - Elayne
