When you come to MB., be sure to come down to Murrells Inlet and visit Flo's Place. The food is authentic cajun (Flo was born and raised in New Orleans). We have a great time. Lots of laughs amidst fun surroundings. The manager, that's me, is a computer addict so be sure to mention that you're online.

Another place in Myrtle Beach, known mostly to locals, is a place called Luvan's. I don't know exactly WHERE it is, although I could find it if I were back there. It's off the main drag through Myrtle Beach, but more southern, down by Surfside (I think that's the name of the city). It's right before a place where they had a flea market a few years back, might still have it, on your left if you're heading north into the city.

You take a left and go through this dirt/gravel road, and it's a small run-down looking cabin. Has anyone ever been to Luvan's? I went two times. Both times the service was exceptional and the food was astounding! (Their Thousand Island dressing is wonderful!).

I'd love to hear from anyone who has visited this place more recently with more information. I miss my yearly trips to MB.

i recommend a place called arnie's on hiway 17 north, it's also called resturant row. they serve excellent prime rib, all you can eat three nights a week. look at the tour guide books they also hand out for coupons to arnies and other restaurants in those books.

Myrtle Beach Area
By far, the best restaurant in the Grand Strand Area is Frank's located at Pawleys Island. Great food, good service, and the best wine list in the area. Tell Salters (the owner) a Wofford alumna sent you.

Another highly rated restaurant in MB in Thoroughbreds. I was there on News Year's Eve. Terrific selection, great service, great atmosphere.

Have fun.

Hi.

It's been two years since I was in Myrtle Beach, so who knows if these places are still there...but here's a couple we liked:

David's Garden Restaurant (just south of Myrtle Beach, cute atmosphere with interesting menu) Flo's Kitchen (in Merrill's Inlet south of Myrtle Beach, funky, cajun place - very casual. Had 'gator ribs with honey mustard sauce - great!)

Can't remember the name of this place, but it was about 40 minutes north of downtown Myrtle Beach in South River (?). Excellent restaurant in an old church. You can probably find the name of it in a local guide book. Sorry to be so vague.

I'd heartily second the recommendation for Flo's.

Excellent food, imaginative presentations, laid-back atmosphere. I wouldn't miss it.
