Well, I wasn't the first customer at Steve's, but my friends and I were the first customers at Bertucci's next door. We used to go to Steve's for ice cream while I was at Tufts and one day we noticed this new restaurant opening soon next door called Bertucci's Pizza & Bocce. We were intrigued by the concept of a bocce court in the middle of the restaraunt. We were there before they opened the doors on their first day of business and were definitely the first ones in. In fact, we were the only ones in there. The owner seemed quite proud of his brick oven and bocce court. We didn't really care for the pizza all that much, but we used to go a lot at lunch to play bocce! We didn't really think the place would stay open for very long. Hmmm, I guess we were wrong. My friend Daniela from Florence, Italy tells me it's the best pizza she's had in the states.
