Vertigo Bar

I have been going to Vertigo since the day it opened. Last Friday was
the first time I'd been in a while, however. I noticed the changes
Barry mentioned (the newly-shorn menus, the *light*, the new ugly
 and uncomfortable chairs...).

I also sadly noticed that the food quality has deteriorated a bit
(at least in my opinion). I ordered two of my favorite things -
the vertigo stix w/mango salsa and a pizza. The stix used to be
so spicy (thanks to all the Old Bay seasoning, I think) and very
crunchy. Yum. The ones on Friday were very very bland, and kind
of limp. The mango salsa has also become very ill. It no longer
tastes very mango-y. I can't put my finger on it, but I know
it is different and not as good. The pizza crust was also not as good
as it was before (it was kind of blah - none of the interesting
bubbles and thick spots as before).

To top it all off, our service was horrible. They seem to have
hired a whole new staff (bartenders and waitpeople). When we
went in, the place was absolutely empty (a bad sign for a friday).
We ordered our drinks and it took almost 10 minutes to bring them.
When we asked for our check and told our waitress we were kind of in
a hurry, it took her almost another 10 minutes to bring it.

On the plus side, however, they have added a bunch of really
interesting-sounding daily specials and new menu items...
