Vegetarian Rest. in South Side?
Without quoting the rather snotty remarks, I can second Zythos as a good veggie place - especially if they bring back their lunch special as the weather warms... Last year, the deal was that you could pick 3 (or 4?) items from their vegetarian menu for 5 dollars. And the better part was that "lunch" ran until 5 o'clock, so I actually stood a chance of making it there after work. (Yup, some of the freaks actually work for a living....) - Marci "So this is hell...and there's a crucifix here..." ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ http://members.aol.com/ladynina
Actually...you may want to try the new 'Sip' in Shadyside (behind the building where Hey Betty is now)...they used to be a coffeehouse on Shady, but they moved to Spahr Street, and now they serve organic vegetarian fare...their hours are funky...but the food is definitely vegetarian...also...'Udipi' Indian food in Monroeville, near the Indian Temple along the parkway, is completely vegetarian...and the food is very good...authentic, as they cater to the temple crowd, and not the bland-palate Americans... For a restaurant with excellent vegetarian selections, try either the Spice Island Tea House or their sister restaurant 'Road To Karakesh', both in Oakland on Atwood Street. They are both very reasonable in price, delicious, charming, and the selections are unique and tasty! Ntylions wrote: > A friend heard of a vegetarian rest. in the South Side.
