I go to Union Grill frequently, and found the service/food/cleanliness is often spotty. Some days everything is really, really good and just like you ordered it. Other days it's not. Note, I usually go at lunchtime, or between lunch and dinner, so dinnertime service/cooking may be different. The last three times I've gone with other people, some member of the party has received a living thing or a leftover in a glass--flies, bits of food, etc. On the other hand, everything has been fine when I've gone by myself. The salads are fantastic, but some of the dressings are really bad--avoid the honey mustard with anything--it tastes like that awful French's Dijonaisse stuff with a tiny bit of honey added. The last time I had it (about six months ago) the house raspberry vinigarette tastes like raspberry vinegar syrup, sweet enough to be cloying--IMHO, vinagarette shouldn't have ANY sweetener in it, I'll tolerate some, but this stuff is way off the scale. I don't like it, and as a diabetic, it's got enough sugar in it to send my sugar level way way off the scale. The ranch is ok, but no great shakes. The blue cheese, on the other hand, is pretty good, containing big chunks of cheese (guess which dressing I usually get). The burgers are very tasty, but it's a tossup as to whether you'll get your burger as ordered. I've had them come out perfect, I've had them come out cold, and I've had medium come out bloody. The grilled vege sandwich is fantastic, couldn't ask for anything better, except possibly their angel hair pasta with marinara (and I'm very, very picky about marinara sauce tasting like fresh tomatos). The devonshire is also quite good. I love the sweet potato chips; fresh, crispy, and lots of them. On the other hand, I was very disappointed with the steak and toast points; the whole item was dry, and the steak was tough and gristly. The cole slaw is so-so, a trifle too sweet, with a bit too much dressing. toodles, gretchen
