 Hello.

This past Saturday, a few friends and I went to Taj Mahal in South
Oakland, based on positive reviews on the net. We were not disappointed!
The restaurant was not crowded, which was a plus, as is happened to be
the peak of the Saturday dinner rush. The service was excellent, and
memorable, because of how personal it was. Atmosphere was great, we were
 made to feel special.

The food was delectable: fresh, seasoned superbly, and cooked in a very
reasonable amount of time. I was the only vegetarian in the party of five.
I am unable to recall the names of the dishes very well, as they were
Hindi, thought menu has a quick glossary of terms.
I ordered a vegetable Byriannie (sp?), a dish of seasoned rice and
vegetables: it was perfect. I also had a very refreshing Mango Lassi, and
some Paranthe (sp?), which was a type of flat gently fried bread.

My carnivore friends ordered the chicken Byriannie (sp?), another, the lamb
dish. Their orders even came with dessert.
(I skipped mine as the main meal was nicely filling, and the sweet lassi
served as my dessert). My friends also got some really interesting tea,
 which I tasted.....mmmm.

 I highly recommend it.
