People mentioned most of the good ones, but you should add the
 following:

Silky's on Murray in Sq. Hill has a good draught selection.

The Squirrel Hill Cafe ("the Cage") on Forbes in Sq. Hill
has dramatically improved its selection of bottled beer
         of late.

Fat Heads, around 18th on Carson St. has (IMHO) the best
beer selection in town [Yes, even better than Max Mex's].
Draught beers includes Sierra Nevada Porter as well as
Pale, Anchor Steam, Pete's Wicked, and my personal favorite -
Fullers ESB served in a queens's pint. As for bottles,
something like nine different Belgian beers, 3 or 4 Anchor
products; those are just the ones that made an immediate
impression - I usually satisfy myself with the draughts
         alone.

When you go somewhere with a great beer selection, make sure you make
it clear that that's what brought you there. Pittsburgh's getting
a really good variety of beers these days, but we have to do everything
we can to keep the trend alive.

A sad footnote - several of you mentioned Chiodo's. While it has a
better selection than most, I believe it's been resting on its Laurels
for the last couple of years - The selection has dwindled, and the
quality isn't always there; it's not at all rare to get badly skunky
fare from Germany and Holland or overly flat stuff from the UK. Also,
I find it annoying that Chiodo's fails to recognize that the best,
freshest, and biggest variety of beer is often to be found in the
US these days. Their insistence on selling almost exclusively imports
and Bud/Rock/IC is probably enough of a reason not to make it a
 regular hangout.
