Pat's Place is located at 1307 Airbrake Ave in Turtle Creek (829-7364)

Pat's Place has been open for about 11 years and has always been known
for fine food, last year the restaurant was sold to the Morse's from
 their cousins
  the Thomassy's.

I, being the Chef, worked for Michael Hooker for years at Simply French
in Oakland, when Michael, left for the South I took his place as Chef in
Oakland for the last few years. When we decided to expand and move to
Shadyside my mother, Jeanne Morse got involved. We took her on as a
partner she helped us finacally and worked with Bikki to run the
 restaurant.

Our first mistake was to move in to such a large site on Walnut street,
the rent was outragous, not that business was bad, but five owners were
 trying to make a living.

I soon found out I could not produce Simply French style food consitantly
for two hundred + people a night, with the staff and working conditions
 involved.

After labor disputes and manegment problems arose, the partnership was
terminated, and thus ended Simply French.

Three months later my parents, my wife, some of the waitstaff and myself,

opened Pat's Place. So far it's been a great sucsess, we bought and
renovated the entire bulding and only seat about 50 people. The reviews
and articles have been outstanding. The location may have hampered us a
little but we've found that most people like the hideaway.
The style is that of Simply French, with many of the old favorites plus
alot more with the menu changing seasonaly.

Michael Hooker did work for us for a short while last spring when he
moved back to Pgh. but has now moved to work for Kaya & Mad Mex , we all
wish him the best of luck.

Bikki now ownes and operates Southwest Bistro with my good friend Chef
Chris Frandigadis, also an old member of the late Simply French.

Hopefully I gave you enough information ( didn't mean to write a book)
but if there is something else you'd like to know you can reach me at
[email removed] or here on this b board.

Soon I'll be publishing a web page for Pat's Place so look for that. It
will include a map, menus and alot more.
