I saw this newsgroup and noticed your message had no reply! Hope your birthday hasn't passed already! There is one very obvious choice, that's the White Dog Cafe, in University City - their specialty is eclectic American food! Bon Appetit!

      At the risk of repeating myself -- I recommend Judy's Cafe
      at 3rd & Bainbridge.  One warning - no non-smoking section.
      Tell them it's UR birthday, and they will do something to make
      sure you & everyone around not forget i8t ;)
