Roland's

Some friends and I went to Roland's last week. Though we didn't get the
squid, what we did get was wonderful. The mussels steamed with wine
were perfect, not over done. The crab-stuffed mushrooms were very
tasty. Someone got the barbequed mussels and clams, which were
slathered in a bbq sauce. He said the clams were a little chewy, but
both the mussels and clams were pretty big in size. The waitress said
that that week everything they'd gotten was very big, the week before
everything was very small. The "stuffed" shrimp was good, not over
cooked, not too much breading. The salads were fresh, and their house
dressing, a hot bacon, was well done, nice and tangy and not over
 greasy.

The only drawback was the service. When my friends saw which waitress
we got they groaned "not again!" Apparently on a previous visit they'd
had miserable service from this person. She did seem to make about a
zillion trips for everything. For example, she'd ask one person if they
wanted more to drink but not all. If we managed to all tell her we
wanted more, she'd make a trip for each drink. On her side, though, we
overheard her say to another table that she doesn't just have to bus the
tables but wash the dishes as well.

The menu was full of interesting things: seafood pizzas, lobster rolls,
raw shellfish (ie. "raw bar" selections), salads, sandwiches, soups,
etc.. We had a difficult time deciding what to get.
