Try heading down the PA Turnpike to the Germantown Pike exit. You can try Totaro's in Conshohocken, or General Lafayette Inn (try their onion rings... they're unique little curls, not big chunks) on Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hills, PA. You can reach these without the turnpike, but it is easier if you don't know the area. ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ If she don't like my melon, we cantelope. http://www.dwacon.com ___________________________________

If you turn right, about 3 miles up the road is Christopher's on the right - good basic Italian plus brick oven pizza. We've never had a meal there, and it's a good place for families. Another nice place is Scoogi's in Flourtown. Again, from Pennsylvania Ave. (where your hotel is located) and Bethlehem Pike, go left and travel about 4 miles to Scoogi's on the left. Very good Italian, and also a good place for families. If you continue past Scoogie's about 4 miles, Bethlehem Pike splits off to the right and brings you to Germantown Avenue and into the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. There are numerous fine restaurants, plus quaint shops including the Chestnut Hill Cheese Shop (which is not to be believed!) where you can find anything from Middle Eastern or Chinese to standard American fare and everything in between. Particularly good are Roller's at the top of the hill, or Flying Fish a little bit further down. You can't beat the sandwiches at Campbell's. BTW, all of the restaurants in Chestnut Hill are smoke-free, if that's important to you. If Chestnut Hill interests you, just pop into Border's bookstore on the corner of Bethlehem Pike & Germantown Ave. and ask for directions and suggestions. Everyone there is extremely friendly and helpful. Have fun! Liz Flourtown, PA Jim D. wrote: > > Hi All, > > I'll be at a conference in Fort Washington PA in late March.
