What kind of food do you want?

If you like German, try Max's Allegheny Tavern, just off East
Ohio Street on the near North Side or the Penn Brewery, near the
 Heinz plant.

If you like Italian, try the Pleasure Bar or Alexander's in
 Bloomfield.

Burgers, try Teserro's in Bloomfield or Fat Head's on the South
Side. (Fat Heads also has great wings and great sandwiches.)

Interesting pizzas? Go to Vermont Flat Breads in the Strip.

I suggest the Church Brew Works, they have an outdoor patio if you are so
 inclined.
All your friend would have to do is take the Liberty bridge and the crosstown
to Herron Ave. Make a left on Herron and wind down the hill crossing the
bridge over the Iron City brewery. Make a right and she'll be almost in front
of the church brew works. 3703 Liberty.
