While in the neighborhood, check out the Reading Termianal Market, and all its swell food vendors. If you can get to the Italian Market, please do, and have a cheesesteak. It's not haute cuisine, but its authentic Philly grub. !!

Philly, Pittsburgh and in between
If you have access, check out www.libertynet.org for a link to an area that describes a variety of Philadelphia restaurants by cuisine.

Does anyone have any recommendations : for restaurants -- preferably reasonably priced -- in the areas of Philly : near the convention center or near Conshohocken (sp.?). Also anything in : Pittsburgh and on the road in between Philly and Pittsburgh. Philly Convention Center is right by Chinatown, and nothing beats Chinatown for reasonably priced... My long-time favorite(s) there: Tang Yean (10th Street between Race & Vine), Joe's Peking Duck House (Race Street between 9 & 10). Tang Yean is "chinese health food" - lots of veggie stuff, no beef or pork, killer shrimp dumplings. Joe's no longer has Joe, but still has great food... ------------------------------------------------------------------- Audrey Marsh "when the going gets weird, [email removed] the weird turn pro..."
