I thought this was a good thread and would like to get as many people's input on this subject as possible: So please continue to make postings to this thread! Places & Dish's I like to get in Chinatown...

Tang-Yean (220 N. 10th St.)
The Shrimp stuffed with Eggplant Tempura in Black Bean Sauce is very good. The dumplings are too! They do everything pretty good! (non-MSG place)

Joe's Peking Duck House (925 Race St.)
The Peking Duck is Very Good. You are full just from the duck slices and pancakes, but then the Duck/veggie plate comes out too (Very Large); Good place for Lo Mein, Moo Shu & Grand Father Chicken. Did not like the whole fish dishes there as much as other things on their menu. Generly speaking I prefer these two (Tang-Yean & Joe's more than most the other places in Chinatown).

Rangoon Burmese (112 N. 9th St.)
Good noodle dishes; good Appetizers. I liked it better before they moved, raised their prices and got rid of the BYOB policy, but still a very nice place!

Lee How Fook (219 N. 11th St.)
Anther very good place, but a couple bucks more than other places a block (more or less) away. Also, seems to take a little longer to get your food than some of the bussier places.

I've gotten Dim Sum at Joy Tsin Lau (1026 Race St.) and Tsui Hang Chun (911 Race St.) I liked Joy Tsin Lau a little better. It seemed to be the place to go, since it had a long line/wait before a table was available. The quality was a little better too (Hot and good). Tsui Hang Chun was a little more fancy, exspensive and they seemed to hide us upstairs. But Tsui Hang Chun did have a few more exotic dishes than Joy Tsin Lau (tripe, feet, snails, Etc.).

Anotherr place's I really like to go for Asian food is Pho 75. It's on 8th St, a half block north of Washington St. One block east of the Itailian Market. Go ther and try the Carbroiled Pork w/ Broken Rice, Charbroiled Pork w/ Vermicelli, the Egg Rolls (though I still think their Egg Rolls should be called Spring Rolls and their Spring Rolls should be called Egg Rolls), and their dishes done in the earth clay pots. Their friut shakes (jack, lichi, logan. etc.) and their French Coffee (really from the French Quarter, New Orleans, cafe du monde) is very, very good (killer!!) too!

For the best fresh, whole fish. and for Squid and Calimari the BEST PLACE, hands down is Dimitri's (3rd St & Catherine) a couple of blocks south of South St. But the best things to get at Dimitri's are not on the menu, get specials there! And most of their chefs are Asian!

What are other poeple's opinions ???
