Paragon Lunch

I've had lunch several times at the Paragon Lunch in the Koppers
building downtown and feel it is worth a mention. It's a cafeteria
located on the basement level of the building but it is clean, well
 lit, and attractive enough.

They have a very nice salad bar, a build your own fajita bar, usually
a soup or two, a build your own sandwich bar, some hot food, a place
to get burgers and fries and the like, an array of dessets, and (at
the moment anyway) an all you can eat pasta (or at least, all you can
get in a container on your one trip) for $3.95. Other items are priced
by weight or by the dish depending.

Yesterday I made myself a salad (and they have some nice touches like
balsamic and raspberry vinegars available in addition to the usual stuff)
and a turkey sandwich on multigrain bread with a pickle slice on the
side. I had water to drink and the bill was about $4.20.

It's not spectacular by any means but I think it is a good lunch
value for downtown. My only caveat would be that the later you get
there the more meagre your selections are. Before 1:00 you should
be fine and actually I've eaten okay at 1:45. But since I'd also
been there other days at 11:45 I was able to see a big
 difference in the selection.
