Though the regular menu has several non-meat dishes, this is not the case with the "special" menu. We asked the waiter if we could either substitute a meatless dish off the main menu (notably, these were the least expensive items on the menu) or have one of the "special" meals prepared without meat. He said that he received several requests like this, but that Valentino’s has a strict policy against substitutions. We could order it off the main menu, but the special would not apply. The manager (a rather unpleasant individual), was completely adamant that there could be no changes to dishes (i.e. leaving out the meat) or any sort of substitution. We even offered to accept a smaller portion of a non-meat dish off the main menu. So we left – and won’t be going back any time soon.
